Thanks ZG. I looked in Macy's yesterday but could not find it. Kids were too tired by the time i got to Nordstrom ...LOL!

I will check out the websites of those stores. And i have sometimes found that the sale prices for designer stuff in stores is less than some of what is selling used on ebay!
In any case i was looking for something new in box, not used!

Not sure where to post this exactly, but I thought this bag looked like an obvious replica to me.

I went to LoveCulture a few days ago and was not surprised to see this SOOO obvious KNOCKOFF of Balenciaga's City bag:

Ew. They also have a hobo bag that resembles the LV Mahina, but with Dooney's Zebra print pattern. It's so disgusting.
LUSTING: TREESJE Mini Magnolia or Asher (w/braided handle), Black/Gunmetal Jovi or Crimson
ARRIVING SOON: Rebecca Minkoff the Affair & Kiss Clutch in Fine Wine (on a major ban till 2011)

I only look for more obscure items on ebay that aren't as apt to be mass faked. It's a terrible problem, but until customers shuts them off.... we're going to have to deal with it.

What on earth is that?! I can't believe LoveCulture is knocking off Balenciaga now.

So i decided to browse through ebay and see if any were available. There are over 1,700 JC necklaces. I went through the first 10 pages and an overwhelming 98% are fakes!!!
Amazing thing is many of them have multiple bids....do the people not realize it or don't they care?

All of the fakes can be easily spotted, because the posting is very vague and never mentions the word authentic, and the title is always followed by a code (ex: "N43") I guess they assign a code for each replica item or style. Further if you look at the pics, the finish on them is not perfect. All are shopped from some location in china. the script is in chinese, so you can't even make out where it is from!!

I have totally lost any interest in getting one of the necklaces
They don't care AND don't realise. I think your average woman doesn't give two hoots if her Gucci or LV is fake. It's what it "looks" like that matters to her. I've heard women argue for replicas/fakes, saying that high priced bags are a rip off and they'd much prefer to have a fake than pay ridiculous prices for the real thing.
Most people couldn't tell a fake if it had FAKE written on it anyway. Which is a shame really.
I'd be embarrassed to wear a fake, even if no one else could tell it wasn't real.

I have purchased a lot of Dooney's in my time and typically spot the fakes (at least the all weather leather ones). I would report them, and some were pulled others were not. Now it seems like they don't even care when you report the items as they don't pull them. It appears that the almighty $$$$ (in collected fees) is more important to them than the buyers.

I recently had rant on Facebook about fakes, as I'd seen several friends' posts linking to a replica designer bag wholesaler. It just made me so angry to read the posts in the link- "do you deliver to melbourne" etc. So I flew into a rant- only to be told by one that her neck was sore-would I please get off my high horse. I just don't know how to get through to these people. My rant included child labor and terrorism funding, but this meant nothing to them. ggrrrrrrr..

^^^ With some people, there is really nothing you can say or do that will change their mind. Mr BRS and I talk about these types of things all the time. People can just be so oblivious sometimes to where the stuff that they are buying comes from. It's like they are robots, programmed to only think about what is directly around them and how those things will affect them. We are all guilty of it though to some degree, it's just the way our society works.
