My last few transactions have been disgusting. Some buyers are expecting more "service" than I get when I buy from Saks or Neiman Marcus! I post shipping times, payment dates and so forth. I recently had a buyer report me for not receiving an item when it was shipped within the timeframe via priority mail. She didn't contact me or allow the approrpiate time for it to be delivered! Very distressing. Then, it took 60 days to get my item back.

I always pay for my purchases right away, and so far every item i have sold, i have recd. payment within half an hour...Thankfully!
I also make it a point to mail the item out within 12 hours of payment receipt.

I finally sold four things on eBay. But my greatest annoyance is that neither of my last two buyers left feedback. And I only have four FB. Two of them are from very nice buyers. It hurts when you have such low FB and none of the buyers bothered to leave FB anymore. If I had like, oh I dunno, 100 FB, then it's OK. It sucks because Paypal holds your funds until the Buyers leave positive FB or doesn't dispute. Every time I have to call PP to release the funds. I got tired of trying to convince my buyers to leave FB. I don't understand how they can be so lazy to leave it. If I get those kinds of buyers, there's a good chance I'll block them from my future sales.

I didn't realize that PayPal payments (for the seller) were tied to feedback now. What happens when negative feedback is left?

I used to sell on eBay and enjoyed doing it. I work full time and it was a hobby of mine. When the economy tanked and the rules changed I stopped selling as it wasn't worth the headache to me.

I have never heard of your feedback being linked to your paypal account. If I sell something, I have access to the funds right away. And it doesn't matter if the buyer never leaves feedback.

shootingstarluma states that her Paypal payments are held up until feedback is left or she has to call them to get the funds.

Maybe this is for new sellers only.

I sell on Ebay all the time, it does cost alot and people do not want to pay what the item is worth. I get so many watchers that end up bidding on the lowest price at the last few seconds. The buyers have it down. I know what I'm willing to pay and I'll bid the lowest and put the highest I am willing to pay. This way I have a chance of winning something I'm interested in and do not have to sit and watch it!

They only hold your funds if you have less than 4 positive feedbacks and it does help if your paypal is linked to your checking account.

I'm sure that paypal funds and feedback are linked, but I don't have the proof :O. I haven't sold on ebay for a while, but it was just such a nightmare, joybidders, fees too high, I could go on.

By the way, if you are trying to buy stuff there, look into auction sniper websites. They will bid for you and you can set your top price and they will bid for you at the last second. Works like a charm, especially where I am as the internet is a little intermittent...

It's been ages-maybe even a year or two-since I sold on ebay. I wonder if it's safe to put a toe back into the ebay pond yet?
