    Default Grr... Buyers! (part 2)

I just want to apologize ahead of time for the length of my post here... I just really need to get this off my back (damn eBay monkey! ) and also I could really use any and all advice, suggestions, etc. that I can get. I also figured that considering the length of my rant (and my dire need of some guidance) that I'd just start a new thread... if that's ok?

    TIA!

I seriously think I am going to go postal on ebay buyers!!!

Well, I hesitated in canceling people's bids (that I was talking about above) and that's because all of them did end up contacting me except for one guy that wasn't even bidding until the last second anyways.

So the guy paid instantly, which was great, but when I went to look at his address... it wasn't confirmed! I messaged him asking him to confirm that the address I got through paypal was correct, and to let me know so I can send it out the next morning (that Monday). This was just minutes after he paid mind you, on 12/28.

    No answer.

And then for the next 6 frickin' days... no response. And of course I wasn't about to send the package to him if he wasn't going to acknowledge me or my emails and messages.

So on the 6th day, which was this past Saturday, I refunded his money and opened an UPI dispute against him which one of the choices listed was:

"This case has been opened by the seller with the following reason: The buyer wants shipment to an unconfirmed address"

So I thought great I'll just get my fees back and relist the damn thing... Pshh, yeah right!

The very next day, on Sunday, the S.O.B. (pardon my french) closes the dispute:

    :Case status:
Closed. Buyer declined your request to cancel the transaction. You will not receive a Final Value Fee credit" (which means I have to follow through with the transaction... )

And responded to me with "Is there a problem with using this address??"

Umm... gee... let me think.... YES!!! HELLO???

    1. It's unconfirmed
    2. You've ignored me for a FULL WEEK, and
    3. Now that I've refunded your money you want the f***ing charm! (again, pardon my french )

And so I messaged him apologizing and blah blah blah, and even offered to upgrade it from first class mail to priority, if he would just resubmit his payment, and I also re-sent the invoice to him (since eBay acknowledges that I gave him a refund)...

    ... again, no answer.

... and going on the 3rd day now since the buyer closed the dispute...

So now I'm basically screwed, huh?

I have absolutely no clue as to what I should do now...

What might happen, can happen, and/or probably will or will not happen, etc...

Call Ebay and then Paypal. I think you can do the live talk with them, IM style. See what they say.

I would call Paypal first, since there's really no way to call eBay. I can't stand talking to them on that live chat, they usually aren't much help. I think you did the right thing. Good luck & I hope this gets resolved soon.

I am really not a fan of Ebay anymore. Definitely call Paypal. I hope that this gets resolved for you.

Open another dispute saying that you haven't received payment for the item yet. That's what I would do.

    You can do that?^^

I thought once a dispute was closed for an auction, you couldn't open another one on the same auction?

It's just getting tougher and tougher to sell on ebay nowadays. There is just too many scammers out there and too little protection for honest seller. Maybe this guy has disputes on paypal for everything single item he purchases and yet he is allowed to continue doing it.

maybe I'm not seeing the larger problem other than the FVFs. Depending on what they are, you may just want to cut your losses and relist.

You have the item, refunded the buyer. Technically, it is not his unless he resubmits payment to you - which is sounds like he hasn't done. Relist the item and block the original winner so that he cannot "win" again - albeit it will be at your cost. It might be worth it to not deal with this person again.
the worst he can do is file a non-performing seller claim (which is a strike) and you can't get more than 3 or so within a time period or you'll get suspended/blocked.

I would then contact ebay via live chat (which you can save a copy) and explain to them you refunded the buyer due to a non-confirmed addy and see what they say. Just be clear and calm explaining the entire situation. It might get your fees refunded.

If he resubmits payment without a confirmed addy, then you're stuck in a position where paypal will not cover you if you ship to an unconfirmed address, but if you do, you absolutely need to CYA: get Delivery Confirmation AND Signature Confirmation with insurance. Then, track that package. Once it arrives, print a copy of the signature and hold on to it should he try to claim item was not received.

Aaargh ebay is so annoying, some girl from Singapore bought my item Saturday night, (when my auction says I only ship to Australia) but thats okay, so I contacted her and said to contact me for her intent on buying the item.... And she doesn't contact me till this morning, saying she wants photos of the date code, heat stamp, etc AFTER she bought the item, and she said if its authentic she'll pay by paypal! She should've asked this before!!!
