I'll have to ding some stars!
I won something Thursday night and paid for it first thing Friday morning and there has been no communication at all from the seller, not even an "I have recieved your payment and will have the package ready to ship on Monday". Nothing......
See, so I'm going to have to ding her stars for "communication". How difficult would it be for her to acknowledge receipt of my payment? There is nothing in her listing that would lead me to believe she is out of town and unavailable for a few days.
Ebay should be a 2 way street, where both buyers and sellers communicate and work together to make our transactions work, but both sides are suspicious, thinking that the other side is going to screw them over.

Some sellers don't say "Thank you for your purchase, I'll ship ASAP". They don't really have to. I would hope that your item will be shipped out on Monday though! Sit tight.

Re: I'll have to ding some stars!
I agree that sellers should be communicative and that it's not too much to ask for a confirmation email like the one you described. As a seller I tend to overcommunicate just so there's no misunderstanding. But, some of these sellers are high-volume so maybe they don't have time? Not that that's a good excuse, but it is easier when you're only selling a couple things here and there.
In any case, I hope you get your item quickly!

Many power sellers sell automatically, so unfortunately they are unable to manually tell each buyer of the receipt! Don't worry tough, ebay always wayyy over protects the buyer!
Always be careful of Paypal!

Re: I'll have to ding some stars!
When I sell on Ebay, the only emails that go to the customer is the one thanking them for payment (courtesy of Paypal) and then the tracking email (again courtesy of Ebay/Paypal) when I ship it out. I would hold tight. Unless it's a big company that is making thier living off of Ebay, I rarely get an email from the seller.

This will be the seller's 20th transaction, I really think she could have said "thanks" being my email will be in both the ebay and paypal notifications she got.
I'm just pretty tired of the lack of communication, I've been on ebay for 10 years now and can tell you, it has totally gone in the toilet, in every conceivable way.NavyMom

Very rarely do I get an email from the seller. But I do agree that Ebay has gone down hill. Just hold tight. You'll get your package soon.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

Re: I'll have to ding some stars!
You're completely right about the lack of communication. But I'm surprised that it strikes you as something new. It's really rare that I get thank you messages. If you're used to receiving them, then you've actually been much luckier than me. :) Well, I guess that's one of the downsides of shopping on the Internet - long gone are the days of the nice old man in the grocery store. We should try to do the best we can though to preserve good human qualities.
I wouldn't be worried about the shipment, by the way.

Re: I'll have to ding some stars!
I'll finish this little story now, I did get the wallet yesterday, but it reeks of Grandma's house so I'll need to air it out. But that's OK, that's doable, I can get it aired out before Christmas.
But now what do I do about feedback? She's given me positive feedback, but do I wait until she asks me or go ahead and give her a 4 on communication?
I guess I better wait until I get a more positive Christmas spirit and can do the decent thing.NavyMom

Sellers aren't obligated to say "Thank you". You got your item and a positive feedback. I wouldn't hold it against them that they didn't tell you when the sent it out.

Re: I'll have to ding some stars!
I understand the lack of communication thing, but my guess is that most sellers do this without giving it much though, they're not used to have someone communicating with them and they probably aren't insterested either way, since some of them this is a full time business.
And give the seller whatever score in communication you feel like to

Re: I'll have to ding some stars!
I agree that sellers don't have to say thank you. I just purchased something and paid within seconds & I haven't heard anything from the seller. I did however receive positive feedback. I think that sellers find feedback as a priority, not e-mails. You never really know what someone else has going on in their lives... so maybe she was just busy or forgot.
But, I am glad that you got your wallet!!

Yeah i am sure its explainable.. besides, some sellers don't work as efficiently as others, but i am sure that'll be shown in their feedback.. Glad you got your wallet anyway!
