Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag
Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag

Whenever I think of Alexander McQueen, I always seem to think of skulls. If its not the skulls that are coming to mind, then I think of black & white, sleek & simple, or a little bit bad girlish. But I have found recently that there is a lot more to Alexander McQueen than I had originally thought. Net-A-Porter is currently chalked full of brightly colored, Japanese-inspired, and retro-inspired items from Alexander McQueen's Spring 2008 Collection. Wow! What a shock that was!
So I have pictured above the Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag for Spring 2008. What I like most about this particular Elvie bag is its bright purple color and slick croco-embossed patent leather. I also like how it feels a little bit retro with its framed styling and turnlock closure. The pleats add a lot of interesting texture as well, on top of the already interesting croco pattern. Since the bag looks kind of small in the regular picture, I have also included a picture of a model holding the bag (Net-A-Porter does not provide measurements). To my surprise, the bag appears to be quite similar in size to a Marc Jacobs Stam. That's a relief, since this bag retails for $2,150.
You can find the new Alexander McQueen Elvie Handbag here: Designer Fashion | NET-A-PORTER.COM

Re: Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag
Fabulous color! Similiar to the color of a bag I saw a woman carrying in the airport the other day that was TDF!!! I should have spoke up and asked about it, but didn't want to bother. I guess I should have considering a man asked me about 10 minutes later if my LV's were "the real thing"!

Re: Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag
::sigh:: Someone over on the blog said that the bag wasn't Stam-like. Did I say that? LOL! I was just trying to make a size comparison to something that was well-known.

Re: Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag
^^^ Yeah, I'm not too worried. It just gets a little annoying when people try to "correct" me when they don't even know what they're talking about. If they read my post then they'll see that I was just making a size comparison. Since the Stam is something people are familiar with, I thought it would be a good reference. Oh well...

Re: Alexander McQueen Elvie Patent Handbag
FYI its on sale now for $1,505.00 on Net-A-Porter.com which is not a bad deal 30% off.
Did anyone notice that the silver version was used by Miranda in Sex And The City movie.
I've been waiting for a sale to buy this bag, which I just did. :-)
