Wow NashvilleDiva... I mean, you sound so cold hearted. You care more about animals than children and people? You said that if it was about animals then you would care, but what about innocent lives? It's not just our country who is reaching out, but all those associated with the UN. Do you even know hat's happening there?
According to reports by the World Food Program, the United Nations and the Coalition for International Justice, 3.5 million people are now hungry, 2.5 million have been displaced due to violence, and 400,000 people have died in Darfur thus far. Militia attacks and a scorched-earth government offensive has led to massive displacement, indiscriminate killings, looting and mass rape.
It's not like we invaded a country where we "knew" there were nuclear weapons - this is about stopping useless violence in a place where people don't have the means to defend themselves or provide for themselves. If the world doesn't help people and countries that are suffering from such issues, then we are all subject to something like it. Who knows if that could happen here, but are you only interested in it if it's in your back yard?
