Try earth911.org or lamprecycle.org to find out about recycling and disposal. Do you have an IKEA? (They have a CFL take-back program)
You can always seal a CFL bulb in a couple of zip locks as a last resort. Those bulbs last forever! I had one in our laundry room, that burned out last week, for 9 years!!
