I hope today is a better day. The job market is rough right now...my husband's brothers wife lost her job today and she worked in the same place for 25 years. A coworker of mine was let go yesterday after a 35 year career with the company we were purchased from...very sad. After 35 years all he got was a luncheon at Chilis and a cake in the breakroom. I feel for everyone that goes through it. My dad worked for General Motors for 32 years, and lost his job back in December of 2006 by taking a buyout ... but then the company cut retiree medical plans back from PPOs to basic (don't know what that is...just know it's expensive and coverage sucks) so he wishes he would have just stayed on board, even though he would have gotten laid off (union).
You're young, you're resourceful, and no one can take that from you. Hope everything looks up.
