I see it as nothing more than product diversification, that is all. The bumblebees and such are designed for a younger market, and it isn't meant to offend older persons with mature tastes. It doesn't mean the quality has gown downhill either. There are still some bags for the mature market, you only need to look at their classic lines for that. Even Coach has its original vintage styles on its website, next to the trendy items.

Geez Louise, I thought the Coach and Dooney threads were supposed to attract loyal customers for the bags, not bashers.

Does it really matter if a brand is elitist or not elitist? Is it that important to impress others? All that matters is whether or not you like it, you're the one choosing your own style after all. I enjoy the soft leather of my Banana Republic satchel and use it more often than my LV Damier.
