Well I've "come out of the closet" on my surgery. When I was younger everyone made fun of me bc I had a pointy nose. I don't know if it was as bad as I thought it was but it was awkward (could have also been the braces/zits/glasses all at once). I'm also a Jewish girl...you know how it is.
My mom is very loving and understanding. She's practical too (so please don't think of her as that typical bow-down type wussy mom). She was very resistant for a while but she realized it was affecting me severely. I felt awful about myself and would cry constantly. Also later on I was told that many people in my family received plastic surgery and they don't find it to be a bad thing at all.
Well at about 15/16 my mom took me to a plastic surgeon with a BEAUTIFUL office right across from Central Park. Dr. Sachs (
www.michaelevansachs.com). First let me say - I AM NOT RECOMMENDING HIM. Instead...I am WARNING you all. To skip ahead a bit - we sued him for malpractice (as we later discovered MANY other did).
I got my nose job from Dr. Sachs only to find out a month later that he screwed up and my nose actually collapsed. Yep... collapsed.
We sued him and won. I got a new car. I also then went to NYU where I had another wonderful doctor re-construct my nose and now while it's "adorable" most people say... I still feel a bit self-conscious. After all that pain and money - was it worth it? Not sure really... I've been complimented on my nose many times but I've also had some people totally figure it out and say "you definitely got a nose job, that's not real". hahaha...
Anyway this got sparked by seeing Ashley Tisdale's nose job. I was wondering if anyone here got plastic surgery and/or if you are looking into it.
I don't think this experience scared me from it. I mean I would never get a boob job but maybe later in life a face-lift or something. Also - I'm not shy of Botox either!! :)
