1st I want to say that this forum is awesome!!! I wish I would have found you earlier!!! I just bought myself ANOTHER coach purse...this time it was from ebay and I think it's real....at least I hope it is....

I'm quite sure it's pretty old...maybe from the 80's? It's a large leather tote...I know the leather is real, I can tell my the smell. There is no lining, just the leather inside. There is also a flap pocket inside with one zipper. The creed is stamped, no additional sewn tag. I do see an embossed bullseye near the coach logo...I'm guessing it's from an outlet store?

The stamp with serial # is quite faded & kinda hard to read but it says in all caps:

THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT WAS HANDCRAFTED IN TURKEY OF COMPLETELY NATURAL GLOVE TANNED COWHIDE. THE VARIATIONS IN THE GRAIN ARE CHARACTERISTIC OF NATURAL FULL-GRAIN LEATHER. NO J7I-4140.

The brass buckles do not have coach stamped on them and it has a stamped leather hangtag.

Could anyone help? I'm interested in knowing how old it is and it's history.

I can't decide if I want to keep it or not or if the price I paid was a fair price ($100). I really like the size, I guess I'm just a little disappointed in it....I think I'm too vain because I want everyone who sees my carrying this to KNOW it's a coach and not have to think twice! I'm such a materialistic girl!!!! I want to include pics but I don't know how...if anyone can help....PLEASE DO! I only have a few days to send this back if I want.
