I think I'm the opposite of you Jennifer... I would say the bag was almost too big for me. LOL! I think the bag is cute though!
Can't you use it for when you're going out or something and you don't want to carry a big bag?

I had a cat once that just loved to get into boxes, just like yours! Of course he would often choose boxes that weren't big enough and he would often split the sides...
