Always MAC. My family doesn't understand why I buy such expensive make up, but I spent ~$400 getting the basics and didn't need to worry about about anything else for like 5 years. (I don't wear make up most of the time.) I know, I probably shouldn't use make up that's that old, but I always apply to clean skin, change my applicators and wash my brushes regularly, and it still seems okay.

Mascara gets changed more often, for hygienic reasons.
